Higher Purpose Forum (HPF) founder Jim Edgerly welcomed guests, introduced the program, and then invited webinar co-host, Dr. Frank Kaufmann to offer remarks on behalf of International Freedom Alliance (IFA), which he leads as its executive vice president.
Dr. Kaufmann explained the Victory Over Communism (VOC) roots of IFA, the highly successful 20th century initiative that was instrumental in the fall of the Soviet Union, East Germany, and eventually Soviet Communism itself. The International Freedom Alliance continues this work in the face of new forms and new home regimes for atheistic Marxism.
The main presentation was given by China expert Lei, host of the extensively followed independent analysis channel, Lei’s Real Talk.
Lei explained the architecture of Chinese intelligence, categorizing its overseas infiltration into three distinct types of operatives each of which represent distinct, interlocking forms of intelligence assets for the CCP.
Following Lei’s presentation, Gerry Willis, Senior Advisor to the IFA, gave the official response highlighting such issues as religious persecution and the corruption of normal public diplomacy, using covert, coercive, and corrupt systems of engagement. Willis finally argued that a strong democratic civil society, fostered through education, communication, and political action, is the most effective antidote to totalitarian infiltration.
As the webinar ended, it was highlighted that religious faith is the thing most feared by state tyrannies. This is because these governments and regimes themselves imitate religion by functioning as rigid, secular "theocracies." Faith alone gives the most resilient and effective bases to totalitarian influence.
